Since there’s no time to waste, let’s get right to it! Ready for some costume shopping?
Movie Characters
Ramona Flowers - Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
Embrace your inner Manic Pixie Dream Girl this Halloween by breaking some hearts as you roller skate on by. Ramona Flowers is easily distinguishable by her unforgettable hairdo, which ranges in color throughout the film from pink to blue and even hunter green.
Although it’s hard to find an exact wig to match her hair in the 2010 film, I was able to DIY her look by grabbing this dark green wig, and chopping it up so I could Goldilocks it up so it’s just right.
To successfully DIY Ramona’s hairdo, place the wig on a mannequin head. Put the hair into a ponytail before hacking off the entire pony in the back. Note: leave two long strands in the front to frame the face so that you can mimic Ramona’s precise look.
Although this hairdo will make you easily call-out-able as everyone’s favorite MPDG, take it a step further by adding her goggles (that she wears at the top of her head) top it up with a pair of roller skates.
Summer - 500 Days of Summer
Adding to the list of indie pixie dream girls, this vintage-style cocktail dress from Amazon Prime just *screams* Zoey Deschanel’s character in 500 Days of Summer. Bonus points if you carry around a paperback copy of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorion Gray. (Or you could just, you know, blast The Smiths as your own personal Halloween soundtrack.)
Lydia Deetz - Beetlejuice

Live people ignore the strange and unusual. If you yourself are “strange and unusual,” you should definitely consider going as Lydia Deetz this Halloween. Yet instead of wearing her cursed red wedding dress like everyone does when they pick out their Beetlejuice costume, try switching it up by wearing her whimsical, gothic look from the beginning of the film.
To master the costume, I suggest grabbing this wide-rimmed black hat from Amazon, along with this lugubrious lace black veil to drape over the hat. Grab your favorite all-black dress from your clowet as well as a camera to snap some haunting pics, and voila!
Holly Golightly - Breakfast at Tiffany’s
We throw the word “icon” around far too liberally these days, to the point where the word has truly lost its meaning. But if you look up “icon” in the dictionary, there’s a good chance you’ll find Audrey Hepburn’s face.
You gotta admit, it’s pretty remarkable how even her sleepwear in Breakfast at Tiffany’s has been appropriated and adored for over 60 years since the film was released. That’s simply because Hepburn’s costumes from Breakfast at Tiffany’s will never go out of style.
Since everyone likes to replicate her skin-tight black dress, why not switch it up by donning her pajama set in the film? I’ll admit, I wear Holly Golightly’s sleepwear eye mask to bed every night. If you don’t already own a large white button down, grab this one right here to complete the look. Just be sure to order a size up, since it’s an oversized fit.
Alice - Alice in Wonderland
Here’s a really simple and beautiful look that can be DIYd in all of ten seconds. Just grab your favorite blue dress from your closet, topped off with a black ribbon to tie into a bow at the top of your head.
Don’t have a blue dress lying around in your closet? No problem! I love this beautiful sky-blue dress from Belle Poque because it mimics the whimsical and wondrous look from the original Disney film. (Confession: my fave Halloween costumes have pieces that you can wear all year round, rather than exclusively on October 31st. That way, you get way more bang for your buck.)
Princess Aurora - Sleeping Beauty
Nothing I love more than a Disney Princess with a contempo twist. This adorable outfit takes all the romanticism from the animated film, and puts it into something you can wear to brunch or on a picnic date.
To master this adorable cottagecore look, go with this ruffled crop top and this high-waisted tennis skirt. Of course, the outfit isn’t complete without a black corset to blend it all together. Try this corset waist belt to achieve the medieval aesthetic. Don’t forget the black headband, and you’re all set to meet your prince!
Harley Quinn - The Joker
Are you guys as obsessed with Lady Gaga’s latest single as I am? I don’t know about y’all, but I personally think she nailed it as Harley Quinn in the newest Joker movie. For the HQ look, I like this “Daddy’s Little Monster” top from Amazon because it’s low-key and high-quality enough that I can wear it every day of the year. Add these shorts for a simple and sexy costume that is sure to turn heads.
Luna Lovegood - Harry Potter
Can we just agree that Luna Lovegood is the finest character in the Harry Potter series? This is not an opinion, it’s an objective fact. You’ll need this long blonde wig and her wacky pink sunglasses to nail the costume. Just be sure to steer clear of the nargles…
Tiana - The Princess and the Frog
Tiana has one of the most gorgeous gowns in the Disneyverse. I love how her dress seamlessly blends with the New Orleans backdrop. If you’re interested in rocking a more modern take on her signature gown while maintaining Tiana’s elegance, pair this lovely tulle green skirt with this elegant mesh green tube top.
Alice - Closer
Or should I say “Jane” from the movie Closer. Anyone who’s ever experienced heartbreak must watch this movie, like, yesterday. To master Natalie Portman’s look in the film, this pink wig and this tassel top are at your service.
Ariel - The Little Mermaid

Here’s another modern twist on Ariel’s bubbly blue dress from the animated film. While strolling along the streets of Denmark with her new pair of legs, she woos Prince Eric in her blue circle skirt, combined with a black tube top and a puff long-sleeved top underneath. So freakin’ cute!
Complete the look with this pretty blue bow. st watch this movie, like, yesterday. To master Natalie Portman’s look in the film, this pink wig and this tassel top are at your service.
Mia Thermopolis - The Princess Diaries
@notsophiesilva MIA THERMOPOLIS HAS ENTERED THE CHAT FOR DAY 14!! Such an easy and cute costume 🤍 #notsophiesilva #halloween #halloweencostume #princessdiaries #miathermopolis
♬ Just A Girl - No Doubt
Who else is pumped for Princess Diaries 3? If you want to pay homage to the character that launched the legendary Anne Hathaway to stardom, look no further. Toss a pair of dark sunglasses into your cart, tiara, elbow-length gloves, a dress made for a princess, and voila! Now, you’re ready to rule Genovia.
TV Characters
Carrie Bradshaw - Sex and the City
Carrie Bradshaw is known for spending wayyyyy too much money on clothes, but did you know that her iconic tutu in Sex and the City’s opening credits was only five bucks? Pair up a white tank top with this adorable Bradshaw-coded skirt and top it all off with her signature Carrie necklace. And just like that, you’re good to go!
Joyce Byers - Stranger Things
This orange short sleeve crew neck is pretty much identical to the one Winona Ryder’s character wears on the hit Netflix series. Just walk around with a bundle of Christmas lights while shouting “WILL!!!” and you’ll totally nail Halloween this year.
Wednesday Addams - Wednesday
Pair up this Nightmoth lip liner (which Jenna Ortega wears throughout Tim Burton’s Netflix series) along with this adorable black dress, so you can rock a gothic chic Wednesday Addams costume. Don’t forget the deadpan stare and the exaggerated dance movies so you do the character total justice.
Cat Valentine - Victorious
By pairing this red velvet colored wig with this flirty bubblegum pink dress, you can light up the room as the bubbly Nickelodeon character who launched Ariana Grande to fame. Don’t forget her giraffe plush toy!
Villanelle - Killing Eve
I’d rewatch Killing Eve all over again just to see Jodie Komer nail all those various accents. While Villanelle has so many killer looks throughout the TV series, there’s no doubt that her most legendary outfit is this over-the-top tulle pink fairy dress that she wears to Paris.
Celebrities
Beyonce
If you, like me, have been utterly addicted to Beyonce’s “Cowboy Carter” album since the minute it came out, consider honoring Queen B with this satchel, along with this sequin cowgirl skirt and this rhinestone-clad cowboy hat. Yayayayayayaya!
Ariana Grande
There are so many legendary Ari eras, but one of her most iconic looks is arguably the simplest. To capture her outfit while on an outing with Pete Davidson (whatta throwback) simply toss an oversized mustard yellow hoodie into the cart to pair up with some knee-high boots and a red tootsie pop to complete the look. Yuh.
Winona Ryder
Winona Forever! Any 90s lover will instantly recall Noni’s effortless outfit here, complete with this exact Tom Waits shirt, and a black faux leather jacket. Arguably her most signature look to date, there’s no doubt Winona fans will identify you instantly.
Sabrina Carpenter
Some of the “Espresso Martini” singer’s most dazzling and standout looks come when she plays up her wardrobe with an unapologetic amount of sequins. This two piece set should do the trick.

There are so many Eras Tour outfits to choose from this Halloween, but my personal favorite is her sequin orange body suit which you can purchase right here on Amazon Prime.
There you have it, ladies! Who will you be dressing up as?
