Here’s What The Top Hemp Contenders Are Really Offering
Couldn’t sleep last night? Although you went to bed early, your mind wouldn’t slow down. In the past, you’ve considered hemp for occasional sleep troubles. But the market is so flooded with lotions, tinctures, gummies, even pet treats — you were overwhelmed. We’d like to help you in your quest to find quality hemp that works for you.
Since you’ve never purchased it yourself, the first thing you should know is what passes for good hemp is derived from the hemp plant. This is where the confusion sometimes comes in: if it contains less than 0.3% of the mind-altering ingredient found in the plant it’s classified as hemp.
While it doesn’t get you high hemp has been shown to alleviate inflammation and promote a sense of calm. Its anti-inflammatory properties work naturally with your system and may alter serotonin receptors. Stress can be caused by a shortage of serotonin, which is probably a large percentage of hemp buyers use it to help ease their nerves.
The explosion of hemp products on the market is good for consumers because there are many options. But in an industry still in its infancy, regulation wise, it can be difficult for new hemp consumers to find a trusted brand. We’ve tried the top 5 contenders in the USA and here’s our review.
Here are 5 of the highest grade hemp oils: Beam, Charlotte’s Web, PureKana, Toast, and Feals.
This company uses full-spectrum oils extracted from hemp and puts them in groovy orange bottles (a definite stand-out). Feals hand-harvests hemp plants from family-owned farms in Oregon and Colorado and blends it with a USDA certified organic MCT Oil — a fat-burning, metabolism-revving superfood that maximizes hemp’s bioavailability throughout your body. But Feals stands out from the rest because it uses pressurized CO2 to draw hemp from the plant so tit is pure, potent, and free of chlorophyll and harmful chemicals.
A neat thing about Feals is The Flight — an awesome sampler which includes three different doses: 40mg, 80mg, and 160mg. Try different dosage levels to find your sweet spot for only $20 before committing to a full-sized bottle!
We found Feals to be straightforward, transparent, and quite effective. Overall, a great experience.
Beam
All the benefits of Beam’s meticulously crafted, broad-spectrum hemp oil in an easy-to-use dropper. Beam’s products are third-party tested for purity, heavy metals and microbial; they’re free of the mind-altering ingredient found in the hemp plant while maintaining hemp’s most beneficial elements. High-quality hemp oil is blended with organic grape seed and organic hemp seed oil to produce a balanced delivery vehicle. $120 for 1500mg / 50mg serving.
Our major issue is the confusing website — it’s not easy to find whether they test oils — we still don’t know if they do.
Charlotte’s Web
One of the best-known companies in the business has grown into a very large one. We were excited to try their products as we’ve heard so much about them. Initial thoughts: they have hemp options for everyone in every form for every ailment — full-spectrum oils, capsules, gummies, a hemp isolate, topicals, even calming hemp for dogs! Their products are made in America in small batches.
We were a bit confused by the vast array choices on CW’s website. With so many products in every category, in different concentrations, for a host of ailments, we weren’t sure where to start. We sampled a few and found that some worked and others didn’t. We suspect that Charlotte’s Web may dilute their good products with lower quality ones to expand their product line. CW can be pricey, though there are discounts for buying in bulk.
Customer service is the sticking point with CW. The folks on the phone are fine, but if you want your product quickly, we hear the wait can be two to three weeks.
PureKana
Although PureKana promises pure results — no pesticides, herbicides, solvents or chemical fertilizers — organic, non-GMO and swear that they’re “laboratory tested” to insure quality, we were not swayed by this company.
They come across as critical of those companies in the industry that do verified lab-testing and high-quality CO2 extraction. PureKana implies that these companies can be sub-par in terms of quality and effectiveness.
We were totally baffled by their claim that we’d benefit from “digital transparency” — and that rather than rely on scientific assessment of a company’s hemp oil, we should look to customer feedback!
We don’t care if they do have topicals, and gummies, and capsules, and oils at $139 for a 1000mg bottle — if there’s no science behind it, we aren’t interested.
Toast
The bottles from this hemp distributor will remind you of late nights at a swanky nightclub. They offer their signature hemp oil in fun flavors like Spiked Pumpkin, Cold Pressed Lemon, and Cinnamon to mask that grassy taste. The full-spectrum oils come in strengths of 250mg, 500mg, and 1000mg.
They claim to test 3 times during the ethanol extraction process and do offer Certificates of Analysis, but we were a little off-put by the overly trendy packaging.
Toast’s hemp is grown on licensed farms in Colorado and Oregon, and they actually offer a version that can only be sold at dispensaries in legal states. We’re curious if their online hemp products are just a way to promote country-wide interest in their more advanced dispensary products. We are pumped to try their chocolates — the price is affordable, even with the shipping fee.
But, our hearts keep returning to Feals because they make it so easy. They ship directly to your doorstep within 3-5 business days and even offer a Happiness Guarantee on their full-sized product. So, if you’re not completely satisfied, you can return it for free within 30 days.
Clearly, Feals is our top dog — a stress busting must-have that will help you sleep through the night. With The Flight, you can try it before you buy it, at $20. Feals really is a better way to feel better.
